General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for CheckFix

Scope
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to the use of CheckFix, an online tool for security analysis of servers and web services. By registering or using the service, you agree to these GTC. -
Description of Services
CheckFix analyzes publicly accessible servers and web services for security vulnerabilities and provides a security rating from A to F.

Users receive a free security check with a rating.

From a grade of C or lower, action is recommended.

The CheckFix Basic or Premium with detailed To-Do Checklist with identified issues and recommended fixes is available only to paying customers.

CheckFix performs automated security tests that are similar to real-world attack methods but without any harmful effects. We provide to-dos and all technical details so that the identified vulnerabilities can be remediated by the responsible technicians (system administrators, IT service providers, or in-house IT staff).

Security consulting and the remediation of vulnerabilities are NOT included, as these can only be carried out explicitly and exclusively by the responsible technicians. Security consulting for the responsible technicians can be booked as an add-on for € 150, takes place online via Teams, and lasts a maximum of 1 hour.

Conditions of Use

CheckFix may only be used to analyze systems you own or manage with the consent of third parties.

Use for illegal or harmful purposes is prohibited.

CheckFix collects and stores data solely for the purpose of security analysis.

Disclaimer of Liability

CheckFix does not guarantee complete security or protection against attacks.

Use of the analysis results is at your own risk.

CheckFix is not liable for damages resulting from the improper implementation of recommendations.

Fees and Payment Terms

The basic security check is free of charge.

The full CheckFix, including the To-Do Checklist and all technical details, is subject to a fee.

Prices and payment terms are presented transparently before the contract is concluded.

Paid services can be booked as an annual subscription with one or optionally two hack tests per year.

Data Protection

All collected data is used exclusively for security analysis.

CheckFix does not store sensitive access data or protected content.

Contact data collected during the Security Check may be used to send information about cybersecurity topics, product updates, and CheckFix offers. You can object to this at any time with one click.

Term and Termination

A free security check does not require a contractual commitment.

Paid services are booked on an annual basis.

The CheckFix subscription can be canceled up to one month before the start of the next subscription year.

Final Provisions

CheckFix reserves the right to change these GTC at any time.

The laws of the country where CheckFix is headquartered shall apply.

If any provision of these GTC is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
